I grew up in Mira Mesa and graduated from Mira Mesa High School. I lived in various places all over San Diego and met so many nice people along the way that I will forever be connected to. The funny thing is politics and religion were rarely spoken about. It's because people had respect for one another's view points. Now the political climate has become volatile.
The day I became political... A woman by the name of Paloma Aguirre knocked on my door and keep in mind this was when the Row vs. Wade topic arose last year. It was overturned and on the news and I was super emotional. Paloma and I had a heartfelt understanding about the divisiveness occurring amongst the two parities and I was disheartened and in tears. Paloma said to me, "You should run." She inspired me to run. I was extremely frustrated on how backwards the country has gone, and I wanted to make a difference.
Needless to say in District 1, Democrats are the majority. 78% of my District are Democrats. We lost because the Democrats did not show up and vote. We should have won...
Here I stand resilient, singing P!ink's song, "Soooooo What!!!?" "I'm still a Rockstar!!!" "I got my rock moves".... Here I go again!!! I'm Jen Crumley running for San Diego Central Committee for the 80th District.
I grew up conservative, Catholic, from a military family. My dad asked me point black, "When did you become a Democratic?" My response, "When I became educated and opened my mind up." I've learned, it's not always about you. We are all in this together. It's about how do we get back to taking care of one another? Respecting one another as humans and and just taking the time to listen with compassion and empathy. We all share different religious beliefs, cultures, backgrounds and education levels. How many wars have started without proper communication? Communication is the key to our survival and compassion and empathy come from a place of love. I'm a true believer that love always prevails.
Prior to San Diego, I was an Air Force kid that lived all over the world and I ended up in Imperial Beach. This is where I am raising my family and where I’ve built my businesses, and I love it here. I want to see it thrive and I can’t imagine a better place to live! As a Small Business Owner, I 100% support small local businesses. Small businesses are the blood lines of America that help us as a community, thrive.
I’m a small business owner that is a pillar of Imperial Beach and the South Bay community that provides jobs to local South Bay residents. Above all else, we love serving our community everyday by making the world a happier place with ice cream and coffee.
I'm the daughter of an USAF Veteran, a mother of two daughters, a College Advisory Board Member at CSUSM, an Educator and a Cybersecurity professional.
Whether it means securing businesses, keeping our neighborhoods safe for families and kids, I’m confident I have the experience and dedication to get things done. I advocate for the underserved, education, women, small businesses, mental health and for equity. Please vote for me, Jen Crumley for the San Diego Central Committee 80th District.
